The year is 1242. The city of Regensburg is on the brink of war.
The slayers of the vampire saint Saulot – clan Tremere – try to extend their influence from Vienna. Assisted by the nightmarish Nosferatu, young Tzimisce voivode from Bohemia try to both stop the usurpers, and make a name for themselves while doing it. In the woods outside the city, savage Gangrel battle werewolves and pagan spirits. With the help of Malkavian seers, vampire lords from clan Ventrue are trying their hardest to keep all other clans from usurping their seat of power; sometimes at the cost of making questionable alliances.
Fairly recently, vampires from the two clans Assamite and Lasombra arrived from Sicily. They are trying to seek support in an effort to hinder the rising influence that the Followers of Set has beginning to get among the merchant lords in the northern part of the Italian Peninsula.
